Join Our Board
LD Edmonton is always looking for new board members!
Are you an individual or parent seeking an opportunity to make a difference in our community by helping to shape the lives of children and youth with learning disabilities / ADHD? LD Edmonton is looking for new board members.
LD Edmonton, a chapter of LD Alberta, is seeking passionate volunteers to sit on the Board of Directors who are committed to advocating and enriching the lives of neurodiverse children and youth.
Responsibilities:
- Accept personal responsibility for achieving the goals of LD Edmonton
- Represent LD Edmonton at initiatives, events and information sessions
- Compliance with LD Edmonton By-laws and government regulations
- Attend and actively participate in board meetings, annual general meetings, committee meetings and other related activities including:
- Development and approval of financial, strategic, and operating plans
- Policy review
- Oversight of LD Edmonton staff
- Grant applications and reporting
Desired Qualifications:
- Prior Board experience
- Strong knowledge of and/or experience in one or more of the following:
- governance
- strategic planning
- communication skills
- financial planning and reporting
- grant applications
- fundraising
- Knowledge in psychology, counseling, therapy, would be considered an asset
Requirements:
- 3-year term of office;
- Up to 50 hour per year commitment
- Participation on one of three committees (Finance & Audit, Governance, Business Development/Marketing);
- Participation in the Annual General Meeting;
- Participation in board meetings ( monthly via Zoom).
- Must be at least 18 years old
